The launch trailer dropped on August 25, 2026, a little over a week before release, and it does the job a final trailer should. It reminds you what the game is, sets the tone, and adds almost no new information for anyone who had been following the gameplay overviews.

What the launch trailer shows

It is a 105-second montage of Vale Sangora: a village, the plague, vampire soldiers, Coen in both of his forms, and quick flashes of combat. The clearest idea in the whole cut is that the transformation is a curse in the eyes of the people around him. Even so, it makes him more capable of fighting back. A frightened villager calls him a demon. A priest promises him a blessing. The editing keeps cutting back to Coen’s own face, which is the only part of the trailer that actually answers a question.

The lines that matter

LineWhat it sets up
The sun didn’t take himCoen is a Dawnwalker, not a normal vampire
I gave you a blessingThe infection framed as a gift by whoever caused it
Your every move sends a rippleThe consequence system in a single sentence
All that remains is for you to chooseThe pitch: your run, your ending

What changed before launch

The biggest pre-launch change was performance. After a strong reaction to the console modes originally announced at 30 fps and 40 fps, Rebel Wolves confirmed a performance mode. It targets 60 fps on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X for launch. Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz also used the trailer to invite players to try the game at gamescom, which underlined that the studio was still actively tuning the release build. The other thing the trailer confirmed is tone rather than fact. It promises a dark, choice-driven drama, and it deliberately avoids showing the late-game story beats that reviews would discuss a week later.

What to do on day one

  1. Finish the prologue before wandering, because it teaches the time and form systems.
  2. Pick a difficulty you can live with, since combat has a real learning curve.
  3. Scout first and read the hourglass cost before committing to quests.
  4. Keep a manual save before major choices so you can compare outcomes later.
