The Blood of Dawnwalker romance options: Anca, Crake and Lacra

How all three romances work: the quest chains that gate them, what the key dialogue choices actually do, and which claims rest on community evidence only.

Three characters can be romanced: the witch Anca, the rebel leader Crake (also called Marat), and the vrakhiri Lacra.

There is no affection bar and no hidden score. Progress means finishing the right quest chain and picking the flirt or confession options in key conversations.

Because quests and some dialogue consume the 30-day story clock, the real cost of a romance is time, not difficulty.

How a romance starts

All three follow the same shape:

  1. Meet the character through the main story and finish the first steps of their quest chain.
  2. Choose clearly affectionate, flirting or confessing lines during those quests.
  3. Finish the later part of the chain to trigger the dedicated scene.
  4. In the ending epilogue, characters tied to your choices appear.

Two tested conclusions are worth keeping in mind: one wrong line never locks you out permanently, since most branches can be recovered through later conversations; and finishing the quest chain matters far more than any single line.

Anca: the most main-story romance

Anca is the village witch. She appears in the prologue when Coen needs medicine for his mother, which makes her the earliest character you can start working on, and the one with the most screen time and ending appearances.

Her progression is tied to her own quest chain:

  • Staying with her in the prologue to read together is the first chance to flirt.
  • Later quests offer plainly affectionate lines, such as brewing her tea or telling her she means more to you than faith.
  • Scenes such as the mountain pool open a confession, and choosing a line like “I care about you” settles the relationship.
  • A major decision late in her chain shapes her personal ending, and one option is clearly better for her.

If you only run one romance and want it to matter in the ending, pick this one first.

Crake (Marat): earn your place beside him

Crake leads the rebellion as a mortal, and he distrusts supernatural power. So the prerequisite is proving you stand with the rebels.

How it goes:

  • Reach his quest line in the prologue by saving someone or investigating his house, then meet him in the woods.
  • Finish the chain that joins the rebellion and he starts to trust you.
  • Shared experiences, such as hiding from a pursuit together, open the first intimate conversation.
  • Later, keep choosing closeness while he is wounded and needs patching up, then respond to his kiss in the conversation outside the city.

The key here is not flattery. It is agreeing with his position.

Lacra: a longer chain with harder choices

Lacra is the vrakhiri you have to trigger separately, usually around the mid game.

Her chain is the longest and carries the harshest choices:

  • Follow her trail to trigger the first encounter, then enter her quest line.
  • Several points let you go along with her or stop her, and some cost another character dearly.
  • Her dedicated scene sits at the end of the chain, so you must finish it to see it.

Running other romances in parallel is not a problem. Several sources agree all three can progress at once, and player reports match. Do note that some choices inside Lacra’s chain permanently change other characters’ fates.

Claims that only community evidence supports

The following rests on a single source or only on player comments. This page does not treat them as rules:

  • Claims of hidden prerequisites behind one romance’s ending come from player question threads and comments, with no first-hand verification.
  • Whether running several romances affects epilogue scenes is only player-reported, with no official statement.
  • The dedicated scenes themselves are plot content and are not detailed here.
