Does The Blood of Dawnwalker have New Game Plus?

The director confirmed New Game Plus is planned, but there is no date and no carry-over rules. Here is the official position and how to plan a second run now.

The answer right now is no. As of Hotfix 1.0.5 you will not find a New Game Plus option in the game, and no release date has been given.

This is not a refusal, though. The director has said plainly that it will be added.

The current answer

The mode does not exist in game. Official channels, including Steam announcements and the game site, never mention New Game Plus up to 1.0.5, and it appears in no patch note.

What the official word actually is

Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed on a 10 September 2026 stream that New Game Plus will be added. He gave no timing and said nothing about what carries over.

Several outlets reported the same statement with near-identical wording: confirmed and planned, details to come.

Three things nobody knows yet

  1. When it arrives. The director gave no window. Any claim of “next patch” has no source behind it.
  2. What carries over. Typical New Game Plus modes carry gear, skill points, level or partial progress. None of that has been published here.
  3. How difficulty and the clock are handled. Skill upgrades and quests both consume story time in this game. Whether New Game Plus loosens that is not stated.

Some pages already describe New Game Plus as unlocked after the credits with skills and gear carried over. That does not match the official position. Until rules are published, those descriptions are not true.

What you can do before it arrives

Two systems together make a second run close to mandatory:

  • The 30-day story clock. Quests, some dialogue and learning skills all advance time. One run cannot clear everything or see every ending path.
  • Upgrades cost time too. Even a main-story-only run leaves almost no room to max out the character.

So New Game Plus here is not just about replaying. It may be the chance to finish a build. That is why players started asking for it in launch week.

Three things you can do now:

  1. Start a fresh run with a different build. If your first run leaned on sword skills, a Witchcraft or Vampirism route plays very differently.
  2. Target the branches you have not seen. Treat the second run as “see the other ending”: pick the allegiance up front (alone, with Crake, with Lacra) and skip full exploration.
  3. Keep one manual save before the final confrontation. Without New Game Plus, that is the cheapest way to see several endings, and it stays useful if carry-over rules ever allow it.

One caution: whether an existing save can use New Game Plus rules once it ships is unknown. Do not throw away your current save waiting for it.
